PVC Waterstop
Detailed Product Description
PVC WATERSTOPS FOR CONCRETE Concrete structures are only as watertight as the Waterstops that join them. Civil Master Waterstops stop leaking before they start in the joints of concrete structures. For many years, Civil Master has served the general and architectural concrete construction industry. Innovation, engineerings and quality craftsmanship are combined to product products of choice for the industrys owners, designers and contractors. Civil Master maintains its position of industry leadership by responding to the unique needs of our customers. Civil Masters dedicated technical and customer service staffs are active participants in the concrete industry to take advantage of the latest technological advances communicate with our market and analyze trends. Centrally located, Civil Master products are readily available through a dedicated network of Concrete Forming and Accessory Distributors both nationally and internationally. Typical structures requiring Waterstops Include: Water and Waste Water Treatment Plants Hydroelectric and Flood Control Projects Basic Use: PVC Waterstop are designed for use in concrete joints subjected to hydrostatic pressure. Embedded in concrete, Waterstops span the Joint, forming a continuous, watertight diaphragm that prevents the passage of fluid. In concrete structures, Waterstops must be designed to accommodate joint expansion, contraction and other lateral and transverse movements. In addition to ccommodating expected movements, the Waterstop material must also be compatible with the concrete system and the liquids or chemicals contained in the structure. Typical concrete structures requiring Waterstops include: water and waste water treatment plants, reservoirs, locks dams, canals, aqueducts, tunnels, storage tanks, foundations or any concrete structure where liquids are to be contained or controlled. Installation procedure Set center point of PVC WATERSTOP at the concrete joint that will be poured and PVC WATERSTOP should be placed at middle point of concrete thickness. After that use clip fix at the edge of WATERSTOP and use wire tie fixed clip with rebar.
SPLICING PROCEDURES PVC WATERSTOPS can be welded with a thermostatically controlled heating or blade welder which is able to adjust the heat up to 250oC for melting the PVC WATERSTOPS as following procedure: Cut Waterstops ends straight and true using sharp knife or carbide tipped saw blade. Clean and lightly rough up the WATERSTOPS using wire brush. Preheat the blade welder to 250OC then apply on the cut surface of each end. Allow the PVC WATERSTOPS melt down about 4-5 mm. along each cut surface. Take off the blade welder from the cut surface and hand press neatly each cut surface of WATERSTOPS together. Then check whether the splice was done properly or not by observing no hole, no distortion and, homogeneous. When the splice cooled, observe it carefully again to make sure proper splice, then the spliced WATERSTOPS are ready are ready to be installed.
